Ayurvedic Approach to Detoxification

In Ayurveda, there is a codified system where in a periodic purification of the body and mind is carried out which corrects the body imbalances with nature, removes the accumulated toxins (thus purifying the body and mind) and then strengthens the immune system. We have developed an ayurvedic detoxification therapy which helps the body expunge harmful radicals.

Ayurvedic Detoxification Treatment Procedure:

During the course of ayurvedic detoxification treatment, several therapies have been used. On undergoing such therapy, a person regains his lost vigor and good health, both physically and mentally. The actual treatment involves isolating the toxins and redirecting them to the stomach from where they are ejected from the body. Besides this, the treatment will open the necessary channels bring in a rejuvenated and enhanced sense of well-being thereby increasing vitality.

Phases Included in the Treatment Program:

Ayurvedic detoxification Treatment program is made up of three stages: Preparation, Cleansing and post - cleansing therapies. The first stage consists of balancing agni, the digestive fire. The actual cleansing therapies will vary from patient to patient depending on his body type. In Ayurveda, A person fall into one of three dominant body types known as Vata, Pitta, Kapha doshas.

Purvakarma (Pre - Purification):

One of the most important Ayurvedic detoxification procedures in Pre Purification is Abhyanga massage with warm oil with added herbs. This therapy helps in increasing circulation and helps to purify your blood. It is followed by a steam bath and shower. Warm oil massage and sweat therapies prepare the body to eliminate the toxins ( doshas) from their respective zones.

Panchakarma (Main Purification Phase):

In this phase, mobilized toxins are expelled through the natural channels of the body. This main phase consists of following elimination therapies:

Vamana:

Therapeutic emesis (only for Kapha conditions)

Virechana:

Purgation through herbs, cleanses the small intestine

Vasti:

Medicated enema, cleanses the colon

Nasya:

Intranasal application of medicated oils, cleanses the nasal and sinus passages

Raktamoksha:
